Foundation and earthworks in Gatineau on Tadoussac Street. Laying a French drain, repairing foundation walls, waterproofing and insulating the sole. The flooring was in poor condition due to inadequate installation of gutters and the use of calcium to deglaze in large quantities.
Why do the work all over the house?
After excavating part of the foundation, we found that the French waterproofing product and drain system were in poor condition. The client then decided to go around his residence for the best possible result. The Blueskin and Plato membranes have been installed all round the flooring. A BNQ drain has been set up throughout the perimeter of the foundation. With such work, we guarantee that the flooring will be completely waterproof.
Isolation of the sole
When the sole is not covered with enough fill, it is exposed to freeze and thaw cycles. This was the case for this foundation, which is at a lower height than conventional foundations. Rigid insulation panels have been installed horizontally to protect the sole. This is responsible for the lift of the house, so it is best to prevent frost from getting there.
Earthworks
Finally, we created a slope with the embankment to promote the flow of water. The foundation of the parking lot has been redone so that the future cladding does not break like the previous one. We extended two types of granular material and compacted it all with a plate compactor.
