The work takes place in Gatineau in the Aylmer area on Acropolis Street. We were talking about a twin who had serious problems with water infiltration. The crack was just to the left of the adjoining line separating our client’s property from that of the neighbour.
Agreement for excavation on the adjoining line
It is very important to inform the neighbourhood when doing large-scale work, especially when it encroaches on their land. This avoids conflict and provides common ground that works for both parties.
For this repair, the client’s neighbour was aware that part of his land was being excavated. A few feet of its foundation had to be waterproofed to protect the crack. Obviously, there was no negative impact on the neighbour except for the earthworks and the flowerbed. For these last aspects, a simple agreement between the neighbours was enough.
Foundation crack
Following theexcavation, the crack was cut and plugged with concrete solidified by mechanical inking installed. An elastomer and honeycomb membrane were installed over an 8-foot length.
