Foundation work in Saint-André-Avellin, Ottawa. One of the many projects carried out in the regional municipality of Papineau.
Water infiltration problems required repairs at several locations. Being passive cracks, a filling with concrete was sufficient.
It was a typical complete foundation repair with some cracks to repair, the installation of a French drain and waterproofing membranes.
Inappropriate surface
The presence of a waterproofing product and significant imperfections on the foundation wall required a longer intervention than usual. In order for the elastomer membrane to adhere well, the old sealant had to be removed and the surface of the wall smoothed.
